For Whom Shall We Mourn?

I realize the last several blogs I've posted have been forwards or links. Today's is no exception.

I seldom ever have the TV on at home- and even if I do, with no cable and a dinky set of bunny ears, there is a fat chance we'll get any reception. Needless to say, watching the news doesn't happen that much. So, when Nick called me from work yesterday to let me know that George Tiller, the late term abortion-performing doctor from Wichita, KS, was gunned down and killed in the Lutheran church he attended last Sunday, it was new news to me. Nick & I talked about it briefly during his lunch break. What does justice look like in a situation like this? Was killing Mr. Tiller justified because he had taken so many others lives? How do we respond as God's people to this situation?

Lots of tough questions. And I'm not sure I have all the answers. I did, however, really appreciate Doug Philips article regarding the issue. You can read it here.

This is tough. I do see the logic behind it. By killing Dr. Tiller, the shooter was saving the lives of innocent babies. However, a truly pro-life person values ALL life, and in that sense this murder was absolutely unjustified.
