Last night was "girls night" over at Jani's house. Hurray for Jani! It was so much fun getting to hang out with girls! Since her hubby was out of town, she was kind enough to host four of us gals for some awesome pasta (homemade alfredo with peas & bacon...yum!) and Kelly Robison graced us with mint brownies. The original plan was to watch a girly movie. However, we all enjoyed the company and conversation so much, we ended up chatting until well after 11pm! Nick and Michael enjoyed having the night to do "guy things" (watching Hannibal and playing Top Spin well into the night). They played long after I came home and went to bed.
Earlier this week Nick and Michael had been discussing getting a little extra cash flow by donating plasma at Biolife. Michael had gone in on Wednesday to get the standard physical, get approved, etc. On Thursday, he started donating and was bringing in some $$$. Nick scheduled his physical there this morning. He was pretty excited and it would work out well to cover COBRA. After getting through the paperwork and into the physical, though, he found out he wasn't able to donate because one of his asthma medications is considered a steroid. He was pretty bummed out.
When he got home we took the Stratus to Goodyear to get some things worked on, but they were booked through the day so we got an appt. for Monday. After a quick trip to the post office for stamps, we headed to both the Webb City Wal-Mart and 15th Street's, along with Sam's to get everything we needed for the week. I guess it was like THE time to be at those places because everyone and their dog was there... it was absolutely cram-packed!!! We realized after seeing the third or fourth cart loaded with Velveeta and chili that people were prepping for Super Bowl tomorrow. Since I'm not really a football buff, I had forgotten about it. I don't know that I'll watch the game, but we're both looking forward to going over to the Myers' house to hang out with them and the Bonds for the big event! And luckily, Nick likes football enough that he'll enjoy the game for the both of us!
Tonite we went over to OCC's gym, hoping to play raquetball but the court was locked up. We've played every evening this week but last night and we were hoping to get back into the swing of things. I totally stink at all things athletic but I felt like I was getting the hang of raquetball towards the end of this past week. I'm sure now with two days off, I'm probably awful at it again! Ha... just my luck! Later this evening, Michael came over and we watched The Italian Job and I made snickerdoodles. The whole house still has a wonderful aroma of sugar & cinnamon.
Well best be gettin'. Have a good night!
