Sorry guys. A few days of not updating our blog turned into a couple of weeks... then a couple of months. I'm realizing now how important it is that I record our day to day events because our lives have been pretty full over the course of the last few months (that I haven't documented) and upon reflection, I can't tell you much of what's happened. I guess I'm on the brink of getting some-timers (not quite full fledged altzeimer's, just part time). It hasn't helped that our home internet has been on the fritz (yet again).
The last time I wrote on here I was just getting over the flu. The following week, we got an unexpected phone call telling us that my 16-year-old cousin, Aaron, had suddenly died from congenitive heart failure. It really threw me for a loop. Thankfully, my boss and Nick's teachers were understanding so we took the week off to run up to KC to help our extended family in any way we could.
These past couple months have been full mainly with the day to day "schtuff". Nick's still chugging along with his homework load. He has 8 days left of classes before finals week. I don't know who's more excited about his graduation, him or me. I'm sure he'll be looking forward to having free time (I know I'm looking forward to having a husband back!!!). I've been planning a movie themed graduation party that I'm really excited about (I think Nick will like it, too). The graduation is at OCC, May 19th at 10:00 in the Multi Purpose Building. His party will be from 1:00-5:00 at Christ's Church of Oronogo's Connecting Place. We'd love to see you there if you can make it!
We put our home on the market three weeks ago. We're trying to sell it by owner (which is harder, but hopefully well worth it). We've got an ad in the paper and have had lots of calls inquiring about more details. We still haven't had an appointment for a walk-through yet (nor an offer). We'd sure appreciate your prayers over the matter. Our house has fit our needs wonderfully these last two years and I'd like to see it meet another family's as well (and soon if it's possible!).
We've also been trying to get a game plan for this summer. We knew we planned on moving up to the KC/St. Joe area, but weren't really set on an area in particular. After a trip back home over this past weekend, we decided on looking mainly in the St. Joseph area. It will be more economical for us to look for a home there, and it will be cheapest to go back to Missouri Western. I plan on finishing my degree in graphic arts, but still taking some music classes just for enjoyment sake (I'm really looking forward to taking violin lessons again with my awesome teacher, Terry Brock). I've been looking around at houses online and found one that I love up there... so hopefully ours will sell so we can jump on the one up in St. Joe! Nick has been so busy with school, he hasn't been able to apply for any positions up there yet. He will start the job hunt as soon as he graduates. I'm tempted to apply at Starbucks back there just because the insurance is awesome and it would be a good college job.
That's kind of the scoop with us. We both got Facebook accounts recently which I honestly like even more than blogging (it requires less work and it's great to connect with people individually). If you have an account (or make one), feel free to jot us a line!
Have a good weekend!
