Halloween Recovery

Okay, so I guess we (or rather, I) over-estimated how many kids would come to our door on Halloween. I was so excited to have all those little kids come, too! They sure missed out! I bought four big bags of candy (and at that time, I was honestly hoping it would be enough). We only had two kids come to our house (kids from across the street, no less!)... so by the time they came and rang the doorbell, I gave them each a whopping handful, trying to get rid of as much as a could. So, guess who's stuck with a bunch of candy now?! At least I know better for next year!

School is about ready to do me in. Book reports on commentaries, research papers, quizes, tests, an exegetical paper, juries & performances... yikes! I don't know if I'll be able to make it to the end of the semester! I am really looking forward to a lighter load next semester. A couple days ago, I called and got information on taking lessons at Southern. They have openings and it's cheaper to take them there than it was at MW (though, no one could replace Terry as a teacher). I'm definitely going to take lessons; if it's financially possible I'll sign up for two 30-minute lessons. I am so looking forward to getting back into the swing of things on my violin again.

Work has also been interesting. Nick didn't get that promotion we were praying for, which really stinks. He's been with the company longer than anyone other than management and is overqualified for the position (at least in my mind... apparently not in the mind of his manager). Meanwhile, my hours at work have been dropped down to nothing. I'm so ready to quit and work full-time on Mary Kay and teaching violin lessons... but then again, that could take weeks to start up and we can't afford weeks without paychecks. That kind of puts us in a bind.... looks like another area we'll just continually need to be in prayer for!
