Work and Warts

The job interview at Tamko turned out well. I ended up having two more interviews and was offered a position yesterday! I was so anxious to get the last three-hour interview done that I agreed to take it yesterday, despite the fact that I had two finals and a recital to attend. Nick and I managed to squeeze in some time to go to the Red Onion (a nice downtown bistro) to celebrate for lunch. I am expecting that I will start next Tuesday (I have to take a drug test on Friday and the results should get to the company by Monday). The company ended up consolidating two part time positions to provide me a full-time job. I will be working in two different departments; the mail and trafficing department. I get a cubical at both which I am so excited about... I can't wait to stick a little calendar up here and a picture frame there! The company was very kind to offer me more time of leave for Christmas if I wanted and also encouraged me to continue to go to school and maybe continue only one part time position with them later. Very encouraging....

Meanwhile, after the interview and the finals, came the pressure to get thirteen lesson plans and five notebook assignments completed to be handed in this morning. I ended up working until 1:30AM on the lesson plans and just about keeled over. Nick ended up finishing the project at almost 4 this morning. We were both zombies when we came to class, and were so busy the night before trying to get our projects done that we didn't study much for our final in that class. Regardless, I think we both felt pretty good about it. I know I was particularly proud of our project. We got permission to work together on ours and developed a thirteen week small group study guide for married couples on the fruits of the Spirit. It feels really good to get that out of the way.

This wart thing is really starting to get old. I was so hopeful when the doctor cut out two of them a couple weeks ago; however, I'm almost positive the big one didn't get completely taken out. It feels like it's growing back again. I also have one on my big toe now. The doctor told me to freeze it every day and put duct tape on it. I did that for about four days until the skin around couldn't take it anymore. I have a blister the size of a grape around the wart. I'm at my whit's end about how to get rid of them all. I'd be up for any suggestions!

Well, must go... with finals week being in full swing, the house has really grown to get cluttered and I better get to cleaning it before it gets the best of me!
