Finals Week

Wow... have I gotten behind.
Thanksgiving break was absolutely wonderful, and much needed. We were able to spend 5 days in Kansas City (Nick got to use some of his unused paid vacation hours). It was so nice to have time off and be with family. It means so much to us to get to be with all our extended families.

Thanksgiving this year was kind of an up-and-run event. We hit three houses- Bill's (Nick's stepfather) brother's house, Nick's grandparents', and my house. Lots of food, lots of people, lots of fun. My dad's been using a bunch of herbal food supplements from Sunrider, so we both tried some of the funky products (teas, powerbars, etc.) while we were up. We'd definitely be open to using some of the Sunrider products when we're in a position to afford it (good quality stuff doesn't come cheap!).

I've been getting anxious to decorate for Christmas. I prefer waiting until each holiday is over before decorating for the next one. So, as soon as Thanksgiving was over, I was eager to get in the holiday decorating spirit. I'd been told we had this huge Christmas tree (Nick's mom's old one) and we've accumulated so many ornaments over time that I knew we'd be able to actually decorate it. I searched high and low and that tree's absolutely no where to be found, so I have all these Christmas boxes of ornaments laying around in our living room waiting to be opened... I have to just laugh, even though it's been frusterating: how can you misplace a Christmas tree?

This past week I got a lead on a full-time job for next semester at Tamko. I applied today. I received a call asking if I'd like to come in for an immediate interview while driving home from a class... I accepted, later realizing I was wearing jeans and applying for a corporate position. Hopefully, they'll extend grace and overlook that. I am really hoping for the position. It would be a Mon-Fri/8-5 job (which the stability of a schedule and paycheck would be wonderful). I have a second interview on Thursday, so feel free to be in prayer for it! :)

We are now in our last week of school. Finals start at the end of this week and go into next week... and then we're through. Earlier this week, I went to MSSU and signed up for orchestra and private violin lessons for next semester. I'm saddened because no one will ever be as great a teacher as Terry, but anything is better than nothing and I look forward to getting back into the habit. Nick and I plan on either getting more involved at the church we're presently attending or look for another church to get connected in. Hopefully with getting rooted into a place, we'll be able to know more families. If so, I would love to start teaching again.

Also, last week I was able to have a wart on my foot removed. Hardly worth mentioning, you might think, but it wasn't a small matter. I've been walking on the tip of my right foot for weeks because my heel was under so much pain and pressure. I'm a whole new person now that I have a whole foot to walk on!!!

We'll keep you posted on the job lead and what comes of it. In the meantime, the countdown begins... 20 more days 'til Christmas!!!
