Life on Monday

Yesterday was absolutely beautiful. Sunny, warm, slight breeze. When I got to work, I found that almost all the computers were down with a virus. Since I primarily scan all morning, it gave me a change to do something else. I ended up helping clean out files in the Human Resources office for them. I got to leave fourty minutes early for an extended lunch break and enjoy the great weather. We had several bills due and I had some packages to get out to family so I went over to the Post Office to send everything out. The post office has pretty new stamps out... I was excited to get a sheet of the new lavendar love bird ones! After the quick trip there, I headed over to Nick at Starbucks. He was able to get his lunch during the same time I was there. We headed over to Arby's for lunch. I was able to leave the office twenty minutes early that afternoon as well and headed over to the bank. While I was heading over to the bank, I got a call from Monte Shoemake at Ozark. I had left a message for him last week regarding the dent a student had put in our car. He profusely apologized (I reminded him it wasn't his fault) but he wasn't able to come up with any way to find out who did it. He just recommended keeping a look out for the student that hit it... I honestly can't remember what he looks like. He wasn't a student I'd seen on campus when I went there last semester, and since I'm not on campus at all now I can't exactly spot him out. We're really fortunate that Bill & Julie have some kind of dent removal device at there place. When we're up, they've offered to try to help get it out. Thank heavens, there was no paint damage.

After orchestra last evening, I went over to the Y. They're open 'til 10 which works out great when we have evening activities. Orchestra started an hour earlier, so we got out at 8. I went over to the gym right afterwards. I really like the machines with personal flat screens on them. I was jogging on a machine for over an hour and didn't even realize it because I was watching a show. I watched another show while on a bike machine for another half an hour. I didn't even realize I had been there for almost two hours. I didn't eat supper and went to bed. I was so excited to see how it would show on the scale. I weighed myself this morning.... and I gained two pounds. I'm still not giving up! Eventually it'll pay off.

Nick's evening consisted of... studying (go figure!). He pulled out yet another 10 page project this week while studying for a test he had this morning. He's become a pro of researching and writing huge papers.

We are going to Kansas City a week from this Saturday to see the musical. I think I've mentioned this twice before... you can't tell I'm excited or anything! We haven't been back to Kansas City since Christmas, so we are both really excited to see family again. I've never had the famous "Kansas City Barbeque" so Nick said he's going to take us to Gates downtown while we're there.

Next week, is the orchestra concert. It will be at Tuesday at 7:00. The theme's Romantic Dances. We've got some fun stuff we'll be playing (Sleeping Beauty Sleep, French Polka, Brahm's, Dvorak themes, etc.). I know it's hard to get out on a weeknight, but feel free to come. It should be a great concert.
