Tuesday I had my first rehearsal for the Ozark senior practicum. It's a small group, but I get to be concert master and have a small solo, which is kind of fun. This week, Mom also called to let me know she was taking all the kids down to see my orchestra concert. I wasn't expecting anyone coming at all, so I'm thrilled!Last night after work I was able to pick up my wedding dress. I had taken it to a dry cleaners in December to get it cleaned and then they sent it to Kansas City to get preserved. I never received a call when it was done, so I totally forgot about it. It was until I was looking at some of our wedding pictures this week that it dawned, "I wonder if my wedding dress is done?". I called and they'd had it for quite some time. I was so excited to get it. It comes in a giant Barbie-like collectors box. There's a clear window on the outside of the box so you can see in to the dress and the veil. It's really pretty and now I don't have to worry about it getting stained or wrinkled.
I came home to a major mess after getting my dress. Nick had a pair of shorts in the dryer with a Sharpie in one of the pockets. The lid came off and it dyed the whole load of laundry and painted the entire "inerds" of our dryer. It will be a continued process trying to get it out of there! After our cleaning house attempt, we went out to Quiznos. I had never been to one before and they've built two in town recently. We had a coupon for a free sub. We both tried an Italian sub and split a chicken romano salad. We both agreed we like Mr. Goodcents best, but both of the ones we had here closed a few months ago.
Wednesday night we went to small group. We were invited by one of Nick's co-workers to the small group he and his wife lead. We both had a great time. Most of the others are college graduates and older students, some married, some dating, some single. There's a nice variety in the group. The church we've been attending is also going to be starting a small group for young couples next week. We're going to see if we can commit to two groups at the same time. It's so nice to be getting to know some other people in the community.
